Birth Doula Services

You have hopes and dreams for your birth, and you are on your way to achieving them! Your birth will be one of the most memorable days of your life, and we want to honor that importance. A doula offers support & comfort measures as you navigate pregnancy, labor, and birth. My births have been empowering and amazing! Each one was greatly improved by the supportive people by my side.  I feel that it is an honor to be able to assist women during such a special time. 

 

As a Childbirth educator and certified birth doula, I am excited to be serving mothers across the Southwest Louisiana area: Lafayette, Lake Charles, Sulphur, Jennings, and Eunice.  I am happy to help you through prenatal preparation, and offering support during and after labor.  I have experience supporting mothers who choose to birth naturally, with medication, and through induction, cesarean and VBAC. Your wants and needs during birth are my top priority. My goal is for you to be respected and have all the support you need to have your best birth!

 

What exactly are doula services?
I provide physical, informational, & emotional support to mothers during labor. I can offer suggestions and comfort techniques to help you feel most at ease. Studies have shown that women who have a doula present during birth have shorter labors, better outcomes, and report higher satisfaction with the experience because of the support they received.  Doulas do not provide medical care (such as delivering babies or performing cervical exams). They are an experienced support for you and your partner, or can function as your primary/sole support person.  Doulas use their birth experience and knowledge to offer position and comfort measure support, and demystify the process, making you feel more at ease.

Doula services include:

• No obligation interview

• Two Prenatal visits, getting to know you & your desires for birth

• Comfort measures and Stages of labor birth prep session

• 24/7 call availability leading up to birth
• Continuous support during active labor & birth

• Assistance after birth as you get settled in with your new baby

• Birth Photography if desired

• Optional postpartum visit in your home at a time that suits you

• Informational support and referrals if needed for other area services

 (such as chiropractic care, prenatal massage, & lactation support)

 

Doula rate (including prenatal and postnatal visits, some photography,

and birth support) starts at $800.

Package discount available when purchased with childbirth classes 

(classes are highly recommended for those desiring an unmedicated birth)
